Ability to stand lost... forever?
« on: March 02, 2011, 04:01:25 pm »

I've lost the ability to stand... will I remain a cripple forever or will I regain the ability to stand?

EDIT: I also have motor nerve and sensory nerve damage, are those affecting it?

OK, I have to reload the save.
There was a bit of a problem regarding flashfreezing, a ballistae, and a barrel of dwarven ale. Gonna fix it up.

Motor nerve damage makes you permanently lose the use of that limb, unless you edit the raws to allow nerves to heal.

Your Options Are:

1) Raw Edits
2) Retirement
3) GLORY!

I think you know which path to choose...

Wielding crutches will allow you to stand again, I think. Be aware that you'll still move really slowly until your adventurer trains in crutch walking.

Ooh, crutches actually work in adventure mode? Cool.

But the real question here is - can you beat people to death with them!?

I have a dwarf adventurer still alive right now who killed 6 hydra, 2 titans and a few dozen named goblins AFTER he lost his legs.

Play on my friend, do not settle for being a cripple the rest of your long life, settle for being capable the rest of your short life.

What do I need to edit for nerves to heal?

Nerves do not naturally heal, but you can add a tag to the tissue raws that allows it to heal.

Wielding crutches will allow you to stand again, I think. Be aware that you'll still move really slowly until your adventurer trains in crutch walking.
Sadly, crutches only work when you only have one nonfunctional leg which should read "ability to stand somewhat impaired" in the health menu if I remember correctly. If you have "ability to stand lost", then both legs are broken and there is currently no way to walk again.
