Oh underground moss, how I loathe thee!
« on: February 19, 2011, 01:04:38 pm »

Forgotten Beast Fire+Underground Moss = Giant Raging Fire killing off an entire squad of dwarves.

The battle took like a second - single spear thrust to the brain.

The aftermath? It's still ongoing.

hint if you want to make a system like this place in one square a ever burning artifact then a tile of nothingness with a hatch above it with wood/achohol on it and then grass or wood or booze.

You can set a artifact made of flammable materials like wood on fire, but artifacts are never destroyed so it just goes on burning and burning.

Of course, since he doesn't actually walk around counting things, we can only assume that bookkeeping time is spent in deep meditation, psychically sensing exactly how many piles of orthoclase there are. It takes a while to hone a skill like that.

Are you sure about that? Because back in the day i toasted my lord and the wooden crown he was carrying just with a drizzle of magma.

I once had an artifact wooden trumpet fall down a volcano. It apparently just sat there at the bottom, as it never seemed to get destroyed.

Was that crown destroyed back when magma was instantly fatal?

Drop the lignite bin on top of a wooden hatchcover. Let some magma flow onto it, after that the hatchcover would burn away and the burning lignite bin would be yours.

If you dropped that into the ocean, would the fire go out?

If I remember correctly, if dropped into the ocean it evaporates the ocean instantly and causes huge fps decrease. I'm unsure if the lag is permanent or not, so I never tried it.

I think it evaporates instantly due to the way stacks of 7/7 liquids flow, which is instantly in all directions except up.
