The collaborative mod.
« on: January 30, 2011, 04:13:59 pm »

This will be a mod where you can post different cool things you've edited into the game. Have a were-wolf made of bronze? post it. Have a fluffy wambler collosus? post that. Have a civilization of ravenous four armed carp-people? POST.

Features-
Nonexistant creatures - GGamer
Horrors from the HFS - Grimlocke and khazadaimenu
moar horrors from the HFS (I think) - Scaraban/alkahai
custom plants - Vorthon (warthbulbs)
MITHRIIIIL - narhiril
Magma critters? - crazy cow
custom metals - arzzult
new civs (Time travelers) - GGamer

My first contribution is an addition to the fanciful non-existant creatures:

Code: [Select]
[CREATURE:TURTLE_DRAGON]
[NAME:turtle dragon:turtle dragons:turtle dragonic]
[CREATURE_TILE:'D'][COLOR:2:0:1]
[FANCIFUL]
[DOES_NOT_EXIST]
[PREFSTRING:Gold. Piles and Piles of gold.]
[ALL_ACTIVE]

I'm working on magma critters, being disappointed at the lack of wildlife to be found in lava. I'll give that to you when I finish it.

You can use this if you realy dont want to survive digging HFS.

Grimlocke's post inspired me to play around with another, slightly sillier way of not surviving HFS.

Behold, the terrifying slade pebble:

Or, for even less survivability, now with clouds of burning, poisonous brimstone:

Watching one tear through squads of high master warriors in adamantine was deeply amusing.

EDIT: Might be nice if I also give you the things you needed to tack into the entity raws.

Also I just recently made these and haven't gotten any significant testing done. Tell me what you think and if you have any problems with them.

I just realized two things. 1. For the Win and F___ the World have the same initials. 2. They have the same meaning in Dwarf Fortress.

your first mithril entry is spelled mithriel

EDIT: after further review that's on purpose...

Ah... Problem. Your mithriel ore and mithriel metal have the same raw identifier - [INORGANIC:MITHRIEL]. If you generate a world with this, neither one will show up.

That's intentional since I wanted to add a touch of flavor to it. Mithriel is the ore/unalloyed stuff. Only about as useful as silver but lighter and more valuable. Mithril alloys is where it really shines by magicaly not weakening the stuff it's alloyed with but making it lighter.

EDIT: ah thanks for catching that Zaerosz.
