Hey, let's try something. Flip a coin, if you get tails, you die of Ebola.

Meanwhile in Iraq: Jihadists occupy Mossul, the second biggest city of the country.

Also this is Iraq, not Syria. The Syrian war may be bleeding into Iraq, but essentially this is still a consequence of the last Iraq war.

Look, I know [not Americans] like to think America can do anything and everything....but what is America supposed to do here? Stand there and point guns at police and military so they stay at their posts?

I'm more than willing to blame America where it's warranted, but seriously...what are we supposed to do about it? Roll in like it's 1999 and take over again? Dump another couple billion into the country so it can be not-so-quietly siphoned off by everyone from American contractors to Iraqi government officials?

We really can't force Iraqis to have a faith in a system they now control.

I think LS was just being snarky, nobody realistically expects the US to do anything about that. Even if they could, it's too much of a clusterfuck now and it's not like anybody has a consistent plan for peace in that region.

Ah yeah, sorry. I just face palmed super hard when I read that article today. I think my post is pretty much an expression of despair for Iraq.
