*ding-a-ding-a-ding* The diner's bell rings as another customer enters.

It was a busy morning. Many patrons were coming in. Most of them were truckers or out-of-towners. A few locals come by, but this place is out in the middle of nowhere. And besides, they never tipped well. But, that might have more to do with how little they like me or my family.

"Get ya more coffee?" I asked one of the truckers. He declined politely. His buddy, however, motioned toward his cup. I filled it.

I took a look at the clock. Just a little after ten. I get a smoke break soon. I really needed it.

A child nearby started screaming. Oh, how I hated the screaming children.

Unfortunately, the cook was also screaming. His face was mighty red, looking through the cash register. He yelled at me where all the money had gone. "Couldn't tell ya," I hollered back. "I've been out here with coffee all mornin' and nowhere near the register."

He started scanning the restaurant for potential thieves. He managed to narrow it down to a good number of people. I have to admit, they were a sketchy bunch.

A song began playing on the old jukebox. A nice piano tune. A dry voice sings a happy tune. "Along the trail, you'll find me lopin'..."

The customers began complaining. This guy wasn't allowed to search for the money through them. This was America. They've got things to do! They'll never come back if he does.

One of them stood up, reaching into his coat pocket. He pulls out a badge. "I'm Sheriff Org. I'll be doing the questioning."

The manager gave a look at him, at his badge, back to his face. "You've got one shot, mister. But that don't make you any different." The manager sat down and began watching.

I went back to serving coffee, gazing over at the bunch of them talking.

Uhm, herp derp?

I think it's interesting. I wonder, however, whether we can still vote and whether it will have some other kind of effect. I also like the flavour quite a lot.

Hey, Flo! Baby, how you doin' darling? Haven't seen you in ages, since my truck route passed through this here no-bit town last. Be a peach and pour me a mug o' joe from those hot jugs of yours, yes?

But let's try the voting bit: Jack AT, are you familiar with the "king" aspect of mafia? How would you best play under it?

A couple more to get things rolling...

Org: Hey ya mr. Lawman! What bag of corn flakes did you find that badge in?

Ottofar: If you had to give Org a recommendation to lynch today right now, who would it be?

Mindmaker: How do you think the sheriff selection procedure works?

Jokerman: What sort of factions do you think there are? How should we proceed about lurkers? 8-P

SaintDraze:  What do you look for in a good scum partner?
Well since I have not been scum yet I don't really know...
I suppose I would like my scum partner to Distance himself from me as much as possible...
and to either be a scrap goat or get as much credit for lynching me to make him look as towny as possible...

And What qualities do you look for in a scum partner, Toaster?

Heheheh... yeah, the question was just to provoke you. But chill man, let it go.

Actual question for you: if you were scum, how would you work to influence Org's choice for the day?

Annnnd book just taunted the Org,
Kindy cocky aren't you Book?
Got any reason for that...perhaps a role power?

And as for you Joker, What is with this hostility I am sensing here?

And Org as king are you just going to just not question and let everyone gather info for you to decide from, or will you start asking around with everyone?

But let's try the voting bit: Jack AT, are you familiar with the "king" aspect of mafia? How would you best play under it?

Not too familiar.  I've read the Kingmaker games, but I haven't played any yet.  Looking at this, I'll want to watch persuasion attempts (as usual).  Org's nature makes me a bit nervous about this all.  It feels to me like it would be best to treat this as a normal day, when it comes to discussion: our goal is still to find scum and convince people that the scum is scum.  We just have to specifically convince one person.  And hope Org's not scum.

Seeing how Org is the only voter, his vote will most likely be a great thing to discuss on day 2.

Toaster: Do you think the source of Org's powers is town, scum, or something else?

MBP: Which do you think is likely to be a bigger problem: scum or hostile third parties?

Org: ...do you have any idea who would give you this power?

Hey web, Nice job getting the start of the game directly on the top of page five...
Did you mean to do it? Or is it completely coincidental?

Oh hello Jack A T What if org got king power through random dot org? Or as a result of his role?

SaintDraze:  I (usually) don't jump out in the middle of the fray, so I'd want someone loud to do that and let me sit back and do my analytical thing.  Basically, someone to complement my playstyle.

Your rolefishing to Book is noted.

Also, don't answer questions for me- it makes us both look bad.

Jack A T:  I have no idea.  He's probably not the first choice of most people for King, though I'd be tempted to pick him if I was a kingmaker.  Traditionally, the Kingmaker is town, so I'd assume it's a townie role, but we could have some sort of modified sleeping god.

MBP:  Did your stint as scum in 5.5 prepare you for this game?

If as a result of his role, it's obviously a one use power.  Anything else is utterly broken.  I doubt he would use it so early, though.

Random dot org...I really, really hope not.

Book: Bah. You have no idea the hatred I will harbor for you forever.

But to answer your serious question...I would probably try to stay out of sight until someone else caught his eye, then I would reappear to subtly influence him towards choosing that person.

Draze: It's a long story. Last BYOR, Book and I had a little...disagreement. It went on for like a week and got rather heated, and ended with me dying.
