Woo! This is kinda nice for me, too. My grandfather drove transport trucks until he got rheumatoid arthritis. He passed away roughly two and half years ago... I still miss him... He was the closet thing I had to a father for the first eleven years of my life. So, this kinda is comforting for me.

Asteroid fields? In interstellar space?

Hell, the asteroid belt in our solar system is so sparse, that probes on their way to the outer planets have almost no chance of encountering an asteroid by accident.

Gee, I can think of a bunch of things that could go wrong without running into an strangely located asteroid field.

- Malfunctioning lifesupport systems
- Squabbling factions fighting
- Damaged engines
- Molecular Clouds
- Etc.
