The fluffy wambler strikes the obsidian tower in the midsection and the severed part sails off in an arc!

I believe the next step of the Colossi-Wambler relations should be used thusly: A line of dwarves accelerates a wambler down the line (200 or so) throwing it to the dwarf in front until we have a wambler, moving at a fraction of light speed.

Thanks to you, I've just spent the last half hour reading the articles about 'Spees Mehreens'.
Thank you.

Not a lemming like behaviour. That implies that they kill themselves without consequence to any nearby colossi.

More like furry mini-nukes, infused with a fraction of the power of the Almighty Creator of DF.

It implies they will toss themselves off cliffs in rivers of adorable egg-infesting bloodlust, murderous gonads detaching, oozing spittle in anticipation of the disgorging of young and festing on the dead!

But all that is not visible in DF. All you see are screaming dwarves, running in vain as furry monsters burst from their plump bellies and marksdwarves wasting their bolts trying to pierce the skin of the furry monstrosities.

This is a side-effect of dwarven animal training (hit animal with hammer until it forgets that it hates you, then lovingly cuddle it).

I'm not your average Bay12er. I care about my drunken midgets.

But what draws Fluffy Wamblers into a Wambler rush to the detriment of nearby Colossi? Maybe they have some sort of bronze radar...

They are antimagnetic. They are thus attracted to non-magnetic things. Therefore they are attracted to bronze, and shear it with their powerful anti-magnetic field (which causes the copper to vibrate spasmodically).

This is also why they don't float away unless nudged by a beard. The antimagnetism attracts them to the ground, canceling the effect of their extreme lightness, which would otherwise tear them from the earth and towards the magnetic ceiling of the world
