Bah, just watch it.  The longer you put it off, the more disappointed you'll be when it doesn't live up to your ever-growing expectations.  Or if you DO like it, the longer you put it off the longer it will be before you start enjoying it!

Okay, so after re-seeing this thread I watched an episode on YouTube. Episode 14. (The description cut off right on the 4 on the previous page, I thought I was starting in a logical place.)

So what did I think? From seeing one episode, it was okay. I mean, considering it's part of MLP, it's certainly the most appealing thing I've ever seen made to the brand name.
But, I don't think it's consumed me yet, I can't go around making topic like this. 

As for my previous post, I was rather hoping to "dodge the bullet", and get out of watching this altogether. Even though I knew it was an inevitability.

I admit to being a ponyfan...at 19 years of age. Regardless of what the parasprites think, this show is remarkably entertaining, especially given the target demographic.

That said, if you want more pony, go here. Some of the good folks from [http://www.ponychan.net/chan/]Ponychan[/url] have created unofficial Twitter accounts for the majority of the cast (one of the accounts is mine), and are doing some lighthearted, G-rated RP through Twitter. It's actually an interesting experiment in social interaction - telling a coherent, dialogue-driven multi-party story...140 characters at a time.

Now, see.  In the case of MLP it's especially important, kind of, because the first episode was the MOST EPIC EVER.

Luna aka Night Mare Moon is seriously my (and a lot of peoples') favorite character, and she rocks evil so hard in the pilot.

Even if you're not going to watch them in order, it's totally worthwhile to go back and watch the first one.

Or you could just cheat with this pmv, but that's cheating.  :/  So watch the pilot.

Also apparently they do the show in Shockwave Flash 8.

And...yeah, I know, edit edit edit, but they start production on the next season starting in April.

(They finished last season in December, which gives you an idea on what the timeline was like to sneak Derpy-eyes in there.  Apparently the fact that she was in a moving company was already in the script!  They just went back and retouched the eyes later...)

Now I wonder, why did they set up such an epic in the pilot, with a 1000-years old prophecy, a super villain, and a brave quest to save the world, only to discard it and do something completely different afterwards ? I'm not complaining (seeing the ponies' daily life is also quite fun), I'm just curious - it's not like you can't do action or quest in cartoons for girls, it has already been done before after all.

Right now, they're just grinding side quests for experience so they don't get their asses kicked end game.

it's the same reason why there's very few male ponies, and why Celestia hasn't been crowned queen.

On the other hand, I suppose those few male ponies do get a lot of action, if you know what I mean.
