I haven't played The Guild II, but I do know that Europa 1400: The Guild (the original) is a great dynasty game.  The only problem is finding it anywhere other than a 2nd hand game shop :(
I've even heard it's better than the Guild II (which is exactly why I haven't bought its sequel).

If you go up to someone and beat the hell out of them with thread, you not only defeat them, you shame them and their entire family for generations to come (providing that there are any survivors).
Various mouths were involved, and a soda can and a penny I think.

Guild 2, with the renaissance expansion and mods/patches is quite excellent. I encounter no bugs, and few other problems. While the game is still far from perfect, I still place it as one of my top favorite games. Just because a game was poorly implemented doesn't make it a bad game to me, Gangsters is the best example of that. One of my favorite games, yet a piece of crap to anyone else.

And, even then, my list in the op is not using 'great' or 'less great' to define the game, but rather the use and implementation of the dynasty mechanics.

I just wish there were more games people were listing... but it may be that there are that few:-/

CRPG for mount and blade warband could almost count, though...

I hate to bring nothing to the table, but I agree with everyone who said "these games are fun, I wish I knew more of them but I don't"

I also agree with everyone who said "The guild was a cool idea and nothing more". I bought it recently and, yes, it still has many bugs, it is still a good idea, and no, it is not yet a good game. If you are thinking about buying it, search of the guild thread for a more indept review.

I almost bought EU3 just because of the dynasty aspect but decided against it. At one point I did pirate one of the EU games and found it quiet terrible (there was lots and lots of stuff going on and no explaination).

The Heir to the Throne expansion adds alot to the game, including, of course, the titular Heir additions.

Elemental has a dynasty mechanic. The game still needs polish and I'm not sure if the dynasties play enough of a role for you, but I figured I'd mention it. You, the channeler and leader of your faction, never die (well, if you die you lose) but you can have children who can be married off for alliances/can become leaders in your army. Not completely sure if your children also have children, etc, but I'm pretty sure they do.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

Fate allows one to play as the descendant of your hero if they win the game.

The original is on GOG.com. And Guild 2 is on Steam.

CK2 isn't going to be out until 2012, by the looks of it.  One hit of dev diaries per month just isn't enough.
