Generic Sci-Fi RTD
« on: January 02, 2011, 08:45:36 pm »

Alright. This is another (There actually aren't that many...) science fiction RTD.
However, this isn't the kind with super-special mega alloys that render all but super plasma death rays useless. Even melee weapons, especially mechanically assisted ones (cue the powerfist) can penetrate armor and create much less noise than, say, a magnetic accelerator cannon.
Lasers are a tad more realistic. They don't make sounds and you can't see them too easily, but for balances sake they don't explode on contact.

Sooo... Make a character and we'll get started. We'll start off on a Heavily Forested planet much like Pandora, only that you can still breathe.
And you don't have to be human. Preferably humanoid though.

*About The Good Guys, I personally didn't like the way it was going. Too disorganized.

Cool, I'll join, just waiting for the character sheet.

Name:  Sareesa Tavis

Appearance:  Sareesa has long, dark brown hair, and hazel eyes.  Her skin is pale, almost as though it has never seen the sun.  Her hair is swept over the left side of her face and reaches her hips.  Despite the odd paleness, she claims to be human, just to merely dislike the sunlight.  She wears clothes designed to hide the curvature of her form, and appears to be in her early twenties.

Background:  ((I much prefer to add this through exposition in game, I hope you don't mind))

Skills/Stats:  Skilled in Infiltration and Melee Combat
Minor Skills in Hacking, and Wilderness Survival (on planets, above ground)

Starting Weapon(s):  The Force Blade (It can inflict damage both through physical cutting and through releasing a short-distance wave of energy)

Armor:  Hostile-Environment Suit (very light armor, good for stealth)

Additional Items:  Typical brown civilian clothing, a backpack, a package of 20 hair pins

(5) You manage to struggle free of the guards and sprint to a safe distance before tossing a knife at one! (5 + 1 = 6) The throwing knife zips through the air, slitting a guard's throat! It then travels around the group of guards like a boomerang. It (5) Slits another throat, (Three 6's in a row!) decapitates three more (!), (4) slices open the last guard's arm, and (2) narrowly misses a random bystander. It then flies back into your hand. Holy crap.

You really can both sig it.
But... That would break the laws of sigging! We can't have everyone running around with the same quotes. IT MAKES THEM UNFUNNY FASTER!

There we go. For inventory assume that you have the items you chose. Due to RL issues I had to finish this on my Android.

Setting: Our heroes have landed on the Jungle planet Altair Minor, ion a mission to locate and destroy an alien colony ship that was spotted landing on tge planet. Your superiors want to colonize the planet themselves as it contains various valuable resources. A robotic soldier named Theta (Accidentally wrote Thea, that sounds cool too.) has been sent along to guide you.

Tarran can enter into the story as he wills. Dialogue is perfectly acceptable.
To the north is a fancy floating island, leaving a swath of darkness below. To the south is a large river, and there are trees all over the place.

"Face-Possessing Space Soldier"? Huh?

Also, just for your information I picked throwing for the grenades, not the knife. The hand-to-hand was for the knife. Personally I think throwing knives is silly when you can pump your enemies full of lead. Whatever, doesn't matter.

I choose to enter right now because I'm impatient.

Walk towards the floating island cautiously.

"Ugg, neanderthals" I sigh under my breath.  "If you make a clearing here, they'll know exactly where we are and that we are coming for them with absolutely no technical or strategic benefits."  I explain to the explosion fanatic.  With this, hopefully, explained, I pin my hair up, put on the helmet to my Hostile Environment Suit and head towards the South.  Flowing water has consistently been the source of many early settlements, why should here be any different.  Be sure to move silently.
