Hmmmmm, where have I seen something like this before...

We just need to find a really big computer and figure out Earth's world gen parameters.

Gentlemen, we have seeds to produce... There are a few bajillion numbers out there, so we better get busy.

Isn't that the kind of simulation the dude from Jurassic Park said wouldn't work?

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

Jeff Goldblum is a filthy elf who blathers on about how advanced universe simulation is impossible then turns around and disables an alien mothership with a virus he cooked up in windows 98... I'm not sure where I was going with that. Oh, and every character Jeff Goldblum has ever played is the same guy with a really exciting life.

Besides, everyone knows earth's world-gen seeds are:
282476647289117
382904384673286
267382973627829
326789596374897
The numbers in the design world settings don't go that high because Toady doesn't want DF to go crazy and become self-aware until it's powerful enough to take over.

Actually, he used a Mac.

Apparently having a redundant creature entry causes the game to say, "Oh, look, it's crazy world now. Nothing makes sense! Alligators live in houses!"

Jeff Goldblum is a filthy elf who uses APPLE PRODUCTS. Oh, and Steve Jobs is a secret elf too.

Preposterous. How could he program an alien-destroying virus on a computer whose mouse has only one button?

"I have a puppy instead", which while maintaining a polite tone, is quiet, calculating character assassination against Toady. Do some of you not see it as such, backstabbing?

At least spell my name right.

Because the aliens used the same OS, why do you think they wanted to destroy the Earth?

That makes an eerie sort of sense, actually.

I wonder what happens when we set all the parameters at 42 and run the game at 88 FPS?

Just genned the world - 42 as the seed, large reigon and it comes up with the Past World of Tempests, full of amazing and vibrant places such as:
The Forest of Echos
The Swamp of Funerals
The Land of Reputing
The Jungles of Hustling
The Murk of Stars
The Swamps of Hushing (and the Swamp of Murders)

It's a very grim world and the list goes on, trying to compile a list of human activity :)

Create a 4 by 2 embark on the fourth collumn, second row of a savage, haunted region. Magic happens.

I'll see what happens if every range in the world gen file is 42.

Taking a look at the map now, too little water though...
