There's always letting the infection spread and giving your dwarves the [EXTRAVISION] tag.

In my limited experience all of human history, forgotten beast generic plagues are the new HFS. I've We've lost more forts civilizations to disease than I we ever did to demons battle.

I temporarily had a blind jeweler and surgeon once. While it had practically no effect whatsoever on their professional life, imagining the result was hilarious.

"Is it done yet?"
"...Nope."

"How about now?"
"...Nope."

"How's this then?"
"...Nope."

This is actually hilarious. Let's list the ways injured dwarves are better than uninjured dwarves.

- Blind dwarves don't get distracted or interrupted.
- Dwarves with brain damage don't socialize and don't collect friends, so lessening the risk of tantrum spirals.
- I read a thread somewhere where a dwarf got smeared in an FB goo that disintegrated all of his sensory nerves, removing his ability to feel pain.
- I vaguely remember there being a benefit to melting a dwarf's skin and/or fat off.

That's all I can remember right now.

All of these need to be combined somehow. I propose mass-production of superdorfs. For !!science!!.

It's even more hilarious when you think about surgeon's perspective :)

"No, three inches to the left"

I have a lot of one-handed dwarves in my military.  I've been trying to profit from this by having them split my limited supply of masterwork gauntlets but they dont seem to want to cooperate  :(

If a dwarf has his fat melted off, he's essentially fireproof from that point on.  His clothes aren't though.  So make a nude warrior as your champion against the fire imps.

I have to put my vote in with stacking soap all over the place and then flooding the fortress. Be sure to keep all the already-contaminated dwarves locked out of the central airtight clean room.

Ideally, you'll have a way to pump the water out again...
