Normal Citizen's Mentality: Aww! The man lost his eyes! That poor soul, it would suck to lose my eyes. I wouldn't even be able to get around my house.

DF player's mentality: Hmm. That man lost his eyes! Quick! Put him at the controls of the nastiest, biggest, most lethal weapon we have in the whole Armok-forsaken fortress!

Add in a creature that covers them with blisters and makes them cough up blood. Then the real fun will begin. (The fortress being covered in blood and your dwarves drowning randomly.)

That is awesome. You have to preserve the FB extract or whatever and dip migrants in it, so they'll be eyeless too. Then go deep underground, dig tunnels and become moledorfs.

With modding, you can make a type of rock airboil, and have the dust carry a syndrome that causes blindness, so that anyone who mines the rock, goes blind. Or instant-necrosis liquifying of the pancreas and left lung. Whichever is more entertaining.

For bonus points, make that rock worth several times as much as adamantine :)

I can't wait until we find out a technique on how to direct injuries.  I remember a thread about making special trapped hall way that would systematically give dwarves head injuries.  With a bruised brain, they'd stop trying to be social, so you wouldn't have tantrum spirals.  Nobles wouldn't demand things either.  Too bad it didn't take off.

Not much about this game fazes me any more. But intentionally lobotomizing all your dwarves gave me a moment's pause.

Then I went back to figuring out how to reliably break my dwarves' limbs without killing them so I can power-level my doctors.

Try a dangerroom, without armor.

ive modded my dwarfs to have no eyes, and so far so good. The only thing is see as a problem is that they seem to be worse at mining (less stone).

So where do the doctors put the eyes after they remove them?

The refuse stockpike I presume. One of my axedwarves brought her baby into battle and brought it back minus a nose. I later found the nose in a refuse stockpile. Naturally, I have named the kid "nosey".
