One other creature on the list that would add great flavour is the humble leech, not only as the vermin that can infect with a disease by feeding on you, but also giant leeches that terrorize evil swamps and leech bodyparts that can be used in random *FUN* anatomy.

There already were leechmen. Not sure if they are still in the current version, but I already had to do sprites for them so they were in at some point.
