I'll retry with the old one, please. The Captain has a habit of getting his arse kicked, crushed and shot in the face for a few games, then he gets awesome. Happens every time I call someone Captain Brunch.

As you enter the next arena, you note the size of it.
It is gigantic, easily the size of all previous arenas put together, with some sort of opening in the center.
You see others, but the soothing voice tells you they are now allies.

"Do you think they're ready for this? Most batches go in after getting at least their first form. Plus, one of 'em died already."
"They'll be fine, and even if they aren't, so what? Just respawn 'um."

The ground shakes beneath you, and you see something begin to rise out out of the opening!
A huge form, vaguely reminicent of a humanoid from the waist up and shining like diamond, faces you!

You are all facing The Goliath Monolith, together!
Holy shit is that thing ever huge!

CRUSH, CRUSH, CRUSH.

Crush will lower his defense for a whole turn right (by which i mean that it lower his defense while other people attack)?

EDIT: in light of other news, crush, crush, attack, attack
DOUBLE EDIT: ATTACK (6 times in a row)

H.A.M. bracing heavy weapon, firing.Defend, Back gun x 3
I suggest you change that to but the defending last, because due to the "Slow" feat, Goliath always attacks last. Right now you're waisting the Defence boost on nothing.
Crush will lower his defense for a whole turn right (by which i mean that it lower his defense while other people attack)?
lemon10: Crush only effects the enemy on the turn it is used, but upgraded versions have a longer duration, which sometimes lasts the full round/battle.
Some attacks/effects work for one turn (they stop when someone else uses an action), some work for multiple turns (your, then other's turns), some work for the whole round (until everyone is out of AP; you have to submit actions again), and some the whole battle (until one of you loses).
Crush only works for one turn, yours. It can be upgraded to work for multiple turns.

so, umm, defend works on attacks made before the defend action happens? I kind of figured that it raised defence from the turn that I use it until the turn after I use it. Change defend till the second action then, I wand to defend against it using something big in the first action.

Defend raises your Defence stat from the turn it is used until your next turn, and gives you an AP point for the next round.

I think I have not explained Goliath's Slow feat very well. What it does is "stall" him until after everyone else is finished.
This means that you do your turn, everyone else does their turns, you do your second turn, everyone does their second turns, etc...
And then, after you and everyone else are out of AP, Goliath does his turns, all at once.
