It feels a bit cheap, but a single weapon trap with a single masterfull steel (or a few silwer) serrated disk will do for as many rooms as u wish...

A masterwork adamantine serrated disk will be worth ☼460800, which means you can have 46 overlapping rooms be Royal quality.

I've been doing this for some time. While it may be exploity, it amuses me that my dwarves prefer a tiny dirt hovel with some spinning doom at the entrance to a masterfully engraved bedchamber carved out of native gold with platinum furniture.
