The Deadly Muskox - HELP
« on: November 28, 2010, 09:43:04 pm »

I just realized now that there's no "Order Dwarves Inside" command in v.31.xx. I'm getting rampaged by a bunch of hairy and angry oxen! WAT DO?

Burrows are your friend. You can use them to order dwarves anywhere.

Picture a dwarf, warrior, mechanic, or some other incredibly useful profession. Now picture him dead. That's what infections do.

Well then wouldn't I have to add every single dwarf to that burrow and then order them to not move out?

Nope, designate a burrow, go into the military screen, and set the civilian alert to that burrow.
Bada-bing bada-boom, all your dorfs are muskox-free.
Until it gets inside.

Well I did the temporary fix of having all my dwarves gather in the Dining Hall, but then I realized a few Dwarves were trapped on the little island (it's an island because the borders of the map and a river).

They almost starved to death on a Muskox infested island because my Architects were too lazy to build a bridge, but one of my Masons saved the day with a few Bauxite floors. If those dwarves would have died a few Architects would have found themselves having an unfortunate accident.

So what do I do now? Never access that piece of land ever. I'm going to set up a few catapaults and use those hairy bastards for target practice.
