I have an easier time remember where posters are from than I have remembering their names and avatars.

I always get a little upset when people forget that I'm one of our handful of Australian forumites, but come to think of it I suppose there are plenty of folks whose geographical location I have entirely forgotten, too...

You can put a location in your profile, but it's just a text box.

I have microcameras in your toilets. They give me info about your location, and the last meal you´ve had.

BTW Dunamisdeos, you should eat more fibre...

During lunch, my parents and my elder brother were speaking of a movie they had watched last night. My father was very negative about the movie because of the religious aspects, especially the depiction of the protagonist choosing to live as a nun instead of a more normal life.
The thing is, he actually got angry talking about it. I knew he was the kind of person who's always persuaded that his views are the only ones that are valid, but now I'm increasingly scared of him. If he can get in that kind of state over fictional events, then his reaction when I eventually come out to my family will most likely be a disaster.

In a matter of months on this trajectory, my city will run out of water. There's nothing I personally can do. My family already averages <25 litres per person per day.

If other people were to put in half this much effort, there wouldn't even be a crisis. People are dumb (yes, often me, too).

If its any consolation, its probably industrial water use rather than residential.

Or at least that's how it was in LA/California, I assume you're talking about a more recent drought?

My father in law was given two months to live... Tops... I dread of his dead, but I also think of what will be of his home, he's the bread winner there. I'm very afraid I cannot afford to help them financially and I know this will tear my wife apart, specially since her mom, her little sister and her grandma will be left without their support.

I'm curious as to how a tank would evolve. Would it climb out of the primordial ooze wiggling it's track-nubs, feeding on smaller jeeps before crawling onto the shore having evolved proper treds?

He's talking about 4 million inhabitant city Cape Town, which will run out of water somewhere around april. The 3 dammed lakes supplying the city with water haven't seen rain in 3 years, and are nearly empty.
He's not talking industrial use.
