My recommendations:
1. Bene gesserit litany against fear worked for me
2. Talking to cashiers and etc worked for me
3. Looking people in the eyes and smiling while walking past them

As confirmed by symptoms last night, I have some kind of fairly common glitch with my heart that causes it not to work correctly occasionally. This is exacerbated by stress and lack of rest. I'm in no mortal danger, but having your heart make unusual noises, cause muscle soreness, and make you short of breath after walking over to get a cup of tea was... Somewhat frightening.

Are you basically the protagonist of Katawa Shoujo?

That's exactly what I thought of. I don't know what to think of the fact that I recognize this heart disease purely because of a visual novel made by weebs on an imageboard.

I mean, it's not life threatening, and aside from a general tendency to not have attractive young ladies immediately dislike me, I'm not a visual novel protagonist by any means. :V

Heiterverzweiflung. Not a legit German word so much as something a friend and I made up in German class once. "Carefree despair". When life is so fucked that you can't stop laughing.

Today, I sent out an email asking several experts for help researching something for my novel.
One of them replied!
Happy yet unspeakably nervous.

Huh, I missed that amongst all the airplane stuff in the happy thread.

That's great! If you don't mind me asking, what's the novel about?

Argh, I'm running on-time.
I'm not extremely early like I'd planned to be. I don't have my buffer!

Heart palpitations (irregular heartbeats), muscle soreness, shortness of breath after minimum exertion are all symptoms that could be caused by something as simple as potassium deficiency. I would advise either going to the doctor and ask if he can test your blood potassium levels, or try eating 1 or two bananas a day supplementary to your diet, and cut down on salty food (eating much salty foods decreases your potassium levels) for a week or two and see if you feel better. Bananas are a decent source of potassium, tasty, and cheap. There's foods that have better potassium levels, but none are as easily available / affordable as bananas.
