That sort of thing is exactly why I stopped doing long-distance driving, but for me it was illness rather than possibly being left without funds. Both are extremely scary in their own way :(

Glad that things are going to be okay, DwArfY1.

I have... three weeks to live.
I completely misread this and nearly jumped out of my chair.

Thanks for the well-wishing. I'm mostly just sort of unsettled by it.

As for those who read of my imminent death, it is my great pleasure to put your minds to rest.  ;)

If you need to transfer money over long distances (across the world), remember Western Union. I hate to do their ads, because they have pretty big fees, but they're extremely reliable and saved my ass once. It's, afaik, the safest solution (but not the cheapest).

How would that even work? Your neck vertebrae magically teleported away? Floppy neck syndrome?

That would not be fun...

I wonder if you could survive that. Guess it depends on if it's just the spinal bone or the spinal cord/nerve bundle as well.

Wikipedia sez: "immediately fatal in 70% of cases, with an additional 15% surviving to the emergency room, but perishing during their hospital stay."

So assuming the above figures are accurate...you've got maybe a 15% shot of surviving an interior decapitation, depending on the severity of the injury.

Ugh, I'm unsure to the depth of impact of what I'm reading--but as today is a national holiday (Nov 30) along with local political stuff happening, I'm really disliking what's going on with those who are 'pro' in the context of what's going on up there >.< Related context connected to causing all this.

...Although this does tie in into our history being wiped even if it's just a half century ago. Couldn't find a better thread to post about these as the 'probably only Philippine politics thread' isn't really a dedicated Philippine politics thread. :v

Sorry for the stressful political situation, Tiru. Hope you're not adversely affected!

Side-note, but am I the only one who thinks there ought to be a general Politics Thread, perhaps for all parts of the world not Europe or the USA?
Side side-note (the sequel), but was that first quote in the first article written in a Creole Language? Seemed to be moving between English and something I couldn't parse. If so, neat!
