I'm pretty sure tryphobia is more of an evolutionary quirk than a real phobia.

The images mostly make me squirm because I think that it'd make me look ugly if I had actual lotus pod skin, though, so I don't know what actually make people be disgusted by them.

Low temp might reach -1F here on Thursday. Brain is broken. Negative temperatures might as well be imaginary numbers to me.
It's like they said "And it'll be a chilly 2i out there, so you best bundle up. This weekend things will warm up to a balmy cos -x..."

Negative temperatures only happen in places that don't actually exist. Like Winterfell. Or Santa's Workshop. Or Canada.

Yeah, or that place. As if people would actually choose to live in a flat, empty wasteland. I've been to South Dakota (the place that "North" Dakota is supposed to be based on), and it's barely habitable as it is.

We actually have about an inch of snow on the ground right now, and it's going to sleet and freezing rain all night. Tomorrow everything will be covered in about half an inch of perfect, frictionless glass. And then it's not going to get above freezing until about....Saturday.

This isn't what I signed up for, Nature.

There's more snow coming (and we already got several inches last week, so we have ~1 foot on the ground). It's supposed to get down to -22 Wednesday. How did people even settle here?

There are (probably) things writhing in the void, like us and yet beyond our comprehension.

Short version:
-The quantities of elements composing living things on Earth tends to loosely mimic those found in the universe as a whole
-Humans are ostensibly considerably smarter than chimpanzees, despite having 1-2% different DNA
-Stars are really, really common

Therefore, there's probably something out there of comparable make but unfathomably superior capacity. Somehow this seems infinitely more terrifying than the related fear that there's probably something superior but totally alien out there.


Related but less terrifying: I wonder if space is like the internet? Uncountable other beings, but nobody has any business with anyone except for a tiny handful of those with similar interests.

Work tried to call me at 8pm and didn't leave a message. I noticed this when I woke up just now (almost 3 in the morning, where I am). I'm seeing all sorts of reasons for getting a call that late; so far none of them relate to me keeping my job. As awful as it is, I kinda need it.
