To be honest, we should really have liberated North Korea years ago.

The poor fucking people living there. =(

Yes! We shall be hailed as liberators!

why does this sound familiar?

While it tends to not be a good idea to have "liberation" as a cause of war, if it's true for any nation, then that nation is North Korea. Still, a war with North Koreas would almost certainly start for reasons other than that.

I love how none of those "battleships" are actual battleships.

How many proper battleships does the US Navy have anymore?  I can't remember ever hearing about Navy ships actually shelling something in the modern day.

With all the shit militaries get over civilian casualties and with the number of combat troops entrenching themselves into civilian hotspots we really have no need for destructive weapons anymore. Everything is precision-guided and attempts to be smart enough to hit a fly on the pyramids with a railgun from Alaska without so much as a whisper and a few grains of dust flying off of the tomb.

The age of battleships has ended. As always the world has become too good at killing eachother for armor to work.

Civilians are Armor. Pretty sure it still has a place and time.

I have a few friends who just flew to south korea for a vacation. I thought it was funny, in the ironic way.

Korea's a pretty messed up state (by today's standards). I'm a little surprised that the capitalist side hasn't completely conquered it all yet. The territory changes being so extreme makes me even more confused.

Oh, and battleships have been outdated since WW2, thanks to carriers. Armor still works better than before, but people value something that can strike tens of thousand miles away rather than something that just sits there, lobbing shells for a few kms.

fortunately, north korea seems to be pretty intent on surviving, so for now, this won't boil over to a nuclear war. I'm just happy this all takes place far away from me in my home in the US. and besides, North Korea killed so few people that they may have just been testing the water. I'm not too concerned for now though, this gets any worse, I'll become concerned.

Yeah, I suppose they have had the time and all the slave labor to make Iwo Jima look like an underground parking garage.
