I believe he said payout was based on the number of winners. Or maybe no one voted for anyone else... so you just got refunded the amount you bet. No "losers" to take money from.

At the very least, it appears that people betting on you makes you lose.

What I mean is, well, besides the fact that Web insists that nobody is getting "lynched", that it's still not entirely clear that our betting caused Org to be lynched. It could be any number of factors. It could be how much we post, what we say, some lucky post count number that, if reached, causes the person who got there to be lynched... anything.

However, I bet that the Ne'er-Do-Wells know exactly how it works and are exploiting the hell out of the system right now.

Hmm.  Interesting.  At least I don't have to feel too bad I forget to be tonight, since everyone just broke even anyway.  I think we should test this all betting the same person thing again, except with someone who is actually kind of active and useful, to see if a majority bet really does decide who gets kicked out, and not just being Orgy or something else entirely.

My thought is that that sounds like you're trying to kill off useful people, not like you're being useful.  "Being Orgy" is not quantifiable, as far as I know, and I believe other people (like you) posted less.

On a more serious note, apparantly our "votes" don't actually do anything, since we had a... 6 way tie when Org got kicked out...

Unless Web really is borrowing elements from my Decisive Mafia, in which case he might have randomly decided Org amongst everyone that was tied.

Sure, and to clarify: what I meant by that is that maybe the mod lynches whoever he thinks is least useful.  Or maybe something else Org did.  It could honestly be any number of things.
Or it could be random.  I really don't know.
And I don't know how to find out.

I just went through the thread and counted the votes. Not the bets, but the votes, which probably don't even matter anyway.

Plus; I miscounted pretty terribly, it was a 3 way tie between Org, Vector and myself.
