Buzz Aldrin saved my life!
« on: November 17, 2010, 01:21:41 am »

So I go out to my room to get my alarm clock... and there's a black widow the size of a quarter right on my desk by the plug. Web and everything.

I get the first book I can find of suitable weight and aerodynamics, which happens to be Men from Earth, and let 'er have it. Without Buzz's book, I might not have found a suitable tome in time, and been forced to use a lesser, softbacked or smaller, book. I might not have killed the spider effectively, and then where would I be?

Thank you Aldrin!

There's no kill like overkill.
Oh, and black widows are probably the only spider I can approve of slaying.

If somebody wants, I can mail the now two-dimensional black widow to you, free of charge. You pay shipping.

Actually, that's probably illegal either for shipping live things, corpses, or poisons or something.

I think you might could mail it within the continental US, but Hawaii is off-limits, unfortunately.
Assuming it actually turned out nice, a framed black widow corpse would be awesome wall art.

Nah, it'd just fill your house with miasma. And block the door open. But you might just get a meal of prepared spider brains off of it.

Bleh, so horrible.
I've not played DF in so long, it took me until the door part to get the joke.

You pick that thing up and try to frame it, and it will wake up and bite you.

You don't kill arachnids with fire. It speeds up their metabolism.

When I first read it, I thought that you were joking about the Black Widow thing. Then I realised that they have to come from somewhere..
