The Steel Federation had been conducting a string of successful campaigns - a small Precursor fleet outpost was wiped out with only minimal losses; a nest of Rakhas was wiped out in ground combat; and a primitive alien race with over a billion members was pacified and brought under colonial rule.

The technology of energy shields had recently been improved to the point that it was deemed ready for installation on the warships of the fleet - no longer would they be tanking damage directly with their armored hulls; instead a regenerating 85-point shield would deflect all but the most severe blows.

Thus, when a new Precursor base was discovered at 40 Eridani, the fleet was dispatched to great fanfare. Who were these soulless machines, that would think to deny the supremacy of the Human race?

During the approach to the planet that the Precursors had claimed, higher-than-expected resistance was encountered. Dozens of missiles were being fired in five minute intervals. The fleet's point defense systems engaged, but the Precursor missiles were devilishly devious, operating at high speed with multiple decoys. Nuclear flames rippled over the fleet; but the new shields proved true, and armor damage was minimal.

The Precursor base was nearly within range of the fleets large-bore laser weapons when they changed tactics - instead of the dozens of large anti-ship missiles every couple of minutes; they instead opened up with hundreds of tiny missiles every five seconds. Although each of the diminutive warheads inflicted negligible damage, there were so many that they overwhelmed shields, then sandpapered the hulls of targeted ships, digging to the vital systems below. Within 30 seconds, three fleet warships had exploded. An order to retreat was given; but before they finally managed to escape out of the range of the deadly stream of fire, three more ships had been blown to pieces.

The remaining fleet limped back to Sol, where they would be repaired. The great shipyards sprang to life, laying down the hulls of a dozen new vessels. The fleet would be back, stronger and more technologically advanced.

Died 4 times to the omega pirate in Metroid Prime: Remastered.  More times there than the rest of the game put together.

Thought I'd identified the only turret in the room so I ran into a safe spot, only to realise that safe spot carried a second turret. Tried backtracking, only to trigger the first turret and wound up in a crossfire.

Died twice to the Metroid Prime.  I won't type up a long rant again, but I hope at least one other person in the world feels that the fight was needlessly long and tedious and that having to repeat the first phase was just a waste of time if you died.  10 minutes per attempt.  Not even a joke.

God Providence down to 2000 health. Somewhere in the realm of 1/40th of his maximum HP.

Had he not landed a stun attack and then dropped about twenty of his target attacks on me, I'd have made it.

Damn near ran out of booze, and it kept showing that it could not find any of the resources it needed. Took me far too long to realize why; the brewery was crammed with random ingredients for the different orders that it could not hold any more and it could not make any single thing. Apparently, buildings will try to load up resources for every queued order, regardless of priority, availability, or storage space.

EDIT: Rematched Lily to train up a change in my lineup because I learned the hard way that the leader of the Brotherhood of the Eternal Pyre doesn't use a Fire-type Pal. It's {Electric/Dragon}. Then again, Lyleen is a Grass-type in a frozen hellhole, so what is logic? Would have beat Lily if my Pals were actually attacking her as often as they should have. Or if her hitbox wasn't terrible causing about half the bullets I was shooting at her to visibly pass right through her body.

Also discovered after multiple deaths that Cold-Resistant Metal Armor(which has +2 cold resist/+1 heat resist) and Fire-Resistant Underwear provides just enough heat resistance to travel around the volcano region during the day, except I was still burning to death because I started flying on my Vanwyrm. Having a Fire-type Pal out increases your body heat a little. "A little" was enough to die of heatstroke before I could figure out why; instead I was flying away desperately on a fire lizard hoping to reach a cooler climate not realizing that was killing me.

Decided to mess about with the police, see what it was like getting over 1 star (I've been a model citizen. In a manner of speaking. Which is to say I've dispensed a lot of roadside justice and the police haven't given a rat's arse, same with flattening the occasional citizen when doing a handbrake turn too late.) and holy fuck MaxTac aren't messing about. Full clip from a tier 4 LMG took about 15-20% of their health off.

Died because the fast travel animation takes about 10 seconds, during which you have no control. My corpse ended up on the other side of the fast travel point.

So with the recent non-shit DLC Thrones of Decay I've gotten back into Total War:Warhammer 3 and instead of playing the new stuff for some reason I've decided I wanna run around as Kholek Suneater. Too bad for me that the addition of Tamurkhan has made him literally unplayable. You start off at war with 3 factions, one being the standard tutorial punching bag (except this time its fucking ogres who will take a chunk out of you before going down), the second one being the orks to your south who will take a chunk out of you because they have two settlements and two armies that you need at least 3 turns to take care of and finally the third being the maggot lord himself who will take those 3 turns to get a full stack and steamroll bot your vassal and you while you're dealing with the southern flank.

Oh you wanna rush north to deal with him before he's a problem? Tough luck, you need at least 3 turns to get to any of his cities by which point you'll once again run into a mostly full stack. And even if you don't the bastard is perfectly specced to kick your shit in, because, and this is the real hilarious part he starts of with a murder-hobo hero that will do an inordinate amount of damage to your army before dying as well as a lord that's a tough melee bastard that gets a passive that basically prevents him from dying, heals him for a shitton of hp and deals a massive amount of damage to your lord if he's nearby (which he has to be because Kholek is the only thing you have that can actually take him on).

But let's say you've somehow managed to bullshit your way trough the big squirmy wormy dude and your army is only kinda scuffed (lets face it, no matter how good you might be, you are not getting out of a nurgle fight as a melee faction and not suffering some consequences), oh hey, the south flank you ignored for 3+ turns now has a full ogre stack and almost 2 full ork stacks bearing down on your one dark fortress thats still at level 1, and if you lose that you also lose all your vassals because why the hell not.

In short, the update might be good for the factions in question, but it once again shows CA has zero QA going on because this shit would've been obvious within 30 minutes of playtesting a faction that's impacted by the DLC patch.

The Miguel fight. That fight was a nightmare when I was much younger, and it's still insane now. He starts the fight by hitting someone with Anti-Black, which stops them from using Black Elements; Miguel has a White Innate, so Black hits him harder. On the other hand, both the party leader and one of the better choices for the fight are Black, so the reverse is true. Later on, he slaps someone with Turn Black(which adds a Black Innate), which does two things; first it guarantees that the field is not full White, which is good because it slightly reduces the impact(crater) of his immediate follow-up, Holy Dragon Sword on the same target.

First attempt, I had to run because he completely gibbed the party leader, who, coincidentally, is the only one with a Revive Element equipped. Next attempt, I had almost beaten him, to the point I estimated one solid hit would win. Then he used Holy Light, a high-level, whole party attack that resulted in a total party wipe. I think he even had a full White field to boost it.

Tried to rest at an old campsite with a bunch of corpses near it in a kobold place. Nigh invincible floating skull appeared and spooked everyone to death.  :(

Tried to climb up a hill. Athletics check failed. Splat! Game over - MCreeper is dead. my STR and CON dumped elf couldn't take 17 damage. Even Linzi has more HP (12 v 19).

Pathfinder: Kingmaker

Got into Blackwater clan place, couldn't get out. Latter mobs there were mighty fat, resistant to everything and couldn't be hit except with a crit, so I lowered the difficulty to minimum and promptly forgot about that. All other chapter quests completed (except one similiarly ferocious), went to Bone Lodge for main quest. At the entrance there is a giant ambush of demons from the front and from behind, helpful angel takes behind. Died once (could have helped more there, buddy!), because the horde was truly giant, but pulled through second time. Stuff inside is oddly easy, maybe they gave me opportunity to show off my alleged superpowers, at last? Only remembered what's wrong at the boss, switched difficulty back on. Good golly...

I don't know and I don't care to know how one is really supposed to spec their characters there. Therefore, and because of loads of loading, I probably won't see myself what the local yangire-chan is up to, besides saying hammy bloodthirsty phrases at every opportunity.

While fast traveling, I encountered a "Pilgrim, seems keen on talking, doesn't seem dangerous but you don't know what he's on about". Turns out it was a beggar woman crying by the road. Which turned out to be an ambush, where over half a dozen armed men teleported nearby(I checked the direction they came in before talking to her, there was nothing there) and charged.

One of the bandits was a dog. The dog didn't kill me, but it did immobilize me long enough to take crippling wounds from the bandits without being able to do much but slam my mace into the dog's spine.
