As Norrec painfully makes their own crutches, the sound of breaking ice echoes through the camp. A large opaque chunk is floating down the river from the waterfall, shattering the thin surface layer as it plows along with the undercurrent.
It strikes ashore near the campsite, and with a loud crack breaks in half. A shivering dwarf, five barrels of beer and a dead kobold lie before you.

Description: about 4'4", 200 lbs. This mountain of a dwarf has a decent size golden beard without any braid in it. This lack of length in his beard indicates he's still a bit on the young side, but is not lacking experience as shown by the scar slightly to the left of his left eye. While he does have the typical dwarf keg stomach, his arms and legs are built like pillars of muscle. His skin is an olive oil tan, indicating that he has had much exposure to either volcanic activity and/or the surface.
Backstory: A dwarven soldier who had served both the dwarven empire and has worked for others as a mercenary/adventure, Tor is a member of the Axeforge Clan of Mountain Dwarves. As such, he has had to work with other races, in particular, the wood elves. While they are very different from dwarves, he is more tolerant of them than the average dwarf, all though he still finds cannibalism very icky and think they complain about chopping trees too much. When asked how he can tolerat them, he would simply reply, "The less foolhardy ones have much longer life spans than humans and goblins and like us, plan for the long term. Even if our cultures are radically different, it is in the best interests of both to put ourside our dfferences and to foucs are arms on mutual foes, such as goblins and trolls. Considering that we prefer mountains and caves and they forests, I don't think land is a real issue." His first step in this agenda is to hopefully make trade with the elves at some point and possibly hire some as mercenary archers. As a member of the Axeforge Clan, he grew up being trained in mining and smithing. However, he is now lacking in those skills due to his prior career as a full-time soldier intead of being a part-time millitadwarf like his kin. He now plans to go to to this new Fortress in an attempt to make a namefor himself by becoming a legendary axesmith, paladin, warrior, ruler and/or any combo of the above.
