Nah, the background is pretty simple. I have it finished already. Just need to finish the map.

EDIT: Map was shamelessly lifted from Sheb's game. Except for a slight readjustment of sea spaces, it exactly the same. (Though it is a map of the world, it can't be that different.)

Right, background is done, and everyone should have enough information to start. Everyone gets 100,000 (50,000 starting money + 50,000 revenue) to start buying armies for turn 1, along with two units of Infantry and a unit of light armour. If anybody wants to tell me the background of their countries between 2012-2055, I'll add it to the background information.

Background: Global Warming was real, and it wasn't pretty. However, its effects were felt differently across the globe, while the Amazon Forest burned and most of sub-saharan Africa turned into a desert, northern Siberia enjoyed a temperate climate and ice-free harbours. Its economy powered by the cheap labour of millions of climatic refugees, Russia was growing into a superpower again.

However, Russia had its problems too. With so many new peoples from so many different cultures struggling to make a living, racial tensions were high, almost degenerating into a Civil War after the 2047 bombing of Moscow's Great Mosque by Hindu estremists. The solution was to create a strong ideology to unit these disparate peoples, and that's what Vladimir Putin III (the grandson of the early-21st-century strongman) did. United under the Chaingun and Sickle of Neo-Bolshevism (or the whip of the labour camps) Russia was ready to be the world's superpower again! Hail the Russian Century!

Order: All my troops shall invade Mongolia. I'll build a fighter and 2 more Infantry, and spend the remaining money (60.000$) to research a way to scout a country before attacking it.

Order:  Attack and take over Uruguay with with 2 units of infantry and one light armor.  Begin production of an additional two infantry and artillery unit ($45,000 in cost)  Study crashed alien ships and attempt to research laser guns ($50,000) (if alien laser guns can't be researched, instead research hydroponics which should allow us to grow more food, and thus sell more on the market, and thus make more money.)

2025: First great wave of migration from India
2029: The biggest farm ever planted is created in Siberia.
2035: With year-round commerce now possible through the Arctic, Russia is becoming a commercial power.
2047: Terrorrist Attack on Moscow's Great Mosque
2049: Vladimir Putin III and his Neo-Bolshevik Party win the elections.
2050: Russia pulls out of the UN. The unemployment from the resulting trade embargo help fuel a nationalist craze, Vladimir Putin III abolish the constitution.
2054: In his XX Annual Congress, the Neo-Bolshevik Party declare that "We shall unite the tought of Lenin and Stalin. Socialism shall be international and in one and unique country. To achieve that aim, we shall invade the world!" The speaker is none other than Sheb, the new ruler of the Bolshevik Union.

Background: 

2012:  Argentina remains in the UN despite the taxes and prospers during the time of free-trade as it's economy further modernizes.

2020:  Infrastructure is thoroughly modernized enabling easy travel throughout the country and encouraging growth in industry and population.  Many immigrants begin to enter Argentina for the vast economic opportunities.

2025:  Christianity becomes the mandatory religion of Argentina, despite the growth of Islam around the world.  Much of this is thanks to Freshman Politician, Viscoth Norrec, who pushed this through the Argentinian Congress in order an attempt to slow immigration from the Muslim nations until the current population could be assimilated.

2035:  The largest Christian Church in all of human history is built in Buenos Aires, Catedral Nacional de Buenos Aires, it can hold up to 150,000 people for one service.

2037:  Islamic Terrorists attempt to destroy the Catedral Nacional de Buenos Aires, but fail.  This results in a much stricter immigration policy and a wave of nationalism sweeping the country.

2045:  After eight years of attempted terrorist attacks Viscoth Norrec is elected president of Argentina and vows to put a stop to the attacks against Argentina.

2049:  Despite growing efforts of terrorists to overthrow Argentina, Viscoth Norrec is re-elected and his first action is to withdraw from the U.N. for their inability to provide any assistance in dealing with these terrorists.  Argentina sends many Special-Ops units around the world to begin fighting the terrorists.

2052:  All home-grown terrorist organizations are crushed, and the foreign-born terrorists are occupied by military, the country is safe at last.  The nation begins advanced scientific research in order to stand up against any attacks brought by the U.N. or any other forces.

2053:  With the crash of the Alien ships in the Sierras de Cordoba, The Argentinian Weapons Development program begins advancing at a pace not-matched anywhere in the world.  Soon Argentina has an equivalent military force to any other nation in the world.  Viscoth Norrec is reelected and is given much enhanced executive powers.  All units that were else-where in the world are recalled to Argentina as the country enters a strictly isolationist period, devoted to researching the alien artifacts.

2055:  Argentina becomes the base of the "Imperecedero Imperio" as Argentina is now ready to expand and become the world's only superpower.

My char would now be about 55 years old, in case anyone is wondering.
