You are in a Desert.
« on: November 02, 2010, 08:33:48 pm »

You paid for a High-boat to the island of the Everdeath and here you are on an archeological expedition. There are four national institutes (owned by their respected governments) here.
Plus Clothes and personal effects.

Your job is to find the mysteries of the island and find out the secret that could catapult your Institute and nation to become the first world power.
Gather artifacts and carvings or images of carvings

One player per institute please. New players can come in when someone dies.

Ex Application form:
Name: John Johnson
Institute: Loki's Ancient Brotherhood of Intelligence

Is this more the Indiana Jones style of archaeology, where you preserve relics and fight great evils, or the Lara Croft style, where you destroy artifacts and kill endangered animals for personal gain?

Can't it be both?

You are all standing in the sand desert that is the north side of the Island. You all have your tents set up.
You see the massive city of Unknown Architecture to the south. Its carved walls leer at you ominously. It looks large even from here. There's where all the secrets lie.

(Anything.Beware however because there are things in that city that even the gods fear.)

What do you do Joey?
What do you do Tom?
What do you do Demonic?
What do you do Kindiana?

Order my workers to start making fortifications and scouting out good escape routes for when we inevitable unleash eldritch horrors from beyond this world. Meanwhile I will ponder what I know of the city.

I order one of my helpers to train in dagger fighting...you know, just in case.
I then order two to scout the area, and the final to use a brush to check out the city's walls for anything of interest.

Arm my helpers with daggers, keep a dagger and sword for myself. No time to loose, I'm getting to the main gate.

Set up the base camp (if it is not already set up) some distance away from the city. Send helpers to examine the area outside the city for natural resources and other potential relics. Read up on anything we know about these ruins or this land.

No, that's what the helpers are for.
