Does a damp red sand wall indicate magma?

I searched in the wiki for damp red sand wall but found nothing

damp indicates water. warm indicates magma.

Careful: if you break through a damp red sand wall, you risk encountering hydroxic acid.  If your dwarves get too much of the stuff in their lungs, Fun will happen.

Lol@ Summary.

Anyways, check and see if there is a murky pool, river, brook, or any other body of water on the level above, which is a common cause, if not, then you've got an aquifer.

You will never see naturally occurring magma in a sedimentary layer (silt, clay, sand, ect.) Unless you have a magma pipe or volcano on your map (which is very unlikely) you don't need to worry about magma until you go at LEAST 50 z-levels down. (Usually more, like 100-200. Depends on your elevation.)

Hush. You are risking having Toady insert carp into your fortress's groundwater. One moment your doctor is walking near a damp sand wall and next, bam! He is sucked into the wall by a demonic goldfish.

Pretty sure you mean Dihydrogen Monoxide. And yeah, if your dwarves stay in it long enough, they will asphyxiate. It's nasty stuff.
