i suddenly have an epiphany! the ideas start to climb to my head, farm some plants, make a kitchen, make a carpenter's workshop, build a home! a castle! an inexpugnable gigantic fortress full of magma deathtraps, and a colossal statue of myself!

make a masonry, use that now worthless boulder to make a real digging implement, a pick, and start mining for anything not microcline...

I build a masonry out of a log carefully carved into a stump specially designed to be used as an anvil to hammer stones into shape.



Then i prepare myself to hammer the microcline boulder into a microcline pick, but I notice that for that I need a craftsdwarf workshop instead, so I dismantle my masonry and build a workbench out of the carefully carved log I was using as anvil.



I carefully hit the boulder with my axe until it breaks into carefully broken bits.



I take the shaft out of the damn shovel.



and use it for something usefull instead.
