"The N Word" isn't the same as negro and you know it.
I actually don't. Aparently I am not keeping up with slurs.

Edit: Trying to look it up, I found "nigger", which is still the same word, just written and pronounced slightly differently. It is the only n-word I found.

"The N Word" isn't the same as negro and you know it. Hell, it isn't even the same as the American negro, the "neegro". Just the difference in the taboo of saying it should make that clear.

It was pretty clear from context that he was treating "negro" itself as a slur.
Which it's not, really, just dated and a little weird-sounding.

ETA:
still the same word, just written and pronounced slightly differently
but those are the only two properties of a word. If it is written differently and pronounced differently then it is a different word.

And not to mention the different connotations and attributes of the versions.

Language fact time! In Swedish (and Scandinavian in general) the word for poison (gift) is the same as the word for married (so gift). You'll immediately recognise the English cognate in the word gift, which is also the etymological origin of our two words -- in case of marriage, "to give eachself to eachother", and in case of poison, "to give something to consume to another". Now, these are the same words, but it should be immediately obvious to everyone that these are not the same words. Similarity does not mean identicality, shared etymology does not mean identicality.

It makes for great "marriage is poison" jokes though.

Not quite. There is another property to a word: Meaning.
I would for example say, that english "red" and german "rot" are the same word. They have the same meaning and their pronounciation is similar. On the other hand, I would consider english "rot" to be different from german "rot", because it means something entirely different.

Quite horrificly, a Japanese student once told me he met a "negroid" - a word he learned from an apparently ancient dictionary. I had to explain this to him that it wasn't particularly offensive but just extremely dated and in that way, a bit ignorant and possibly insulting.

N/F/C
The racist caricature's KFC!

Apparently "Sus" is a homophobic slur.  And it being prevalent because of Among us is getting some people's underwear in a knot.  Apparently it was used to say they suspected someone of being homosexual?  But isn't sus just a shorthand of suspicious?  Even what I can find online talking about people using it as a slur says it's just a shorthand of suspicious.

So why aren't folks flipping the table over people saying someone is suspicious too?

WTF.
It's not. This started as a troll post accusing Among Us of being homophobic, because they knew people would spread it far and wide.

I find the word "neger" (or any variation or translation thereof, such as "black person") used for humans just inaccurate in most cases. Most such people are actually brown, not black. In the same way, saying someone is white is equaly inaccurate. Usually it is somewhere between pink an beige. (unless you are a vampire or have a strange skin condition)

"Negroid" is even sillier, as it literaly means "one that looks black" in a fusion of spanish and greek.

I mean. Americans do still mean negroid when they say black and mongoloid when they say asian, so...
[joke]What if an American buys asian food and drinks black tea?[/joke]

More than silly, the term was spun up/popularized by thoroughly discredited racist horseshit. It's a word best left to rot and die in older, worse, times.

Surely you mean "exchange it for a more pc term that means the exact same thing"

Further proof that racists should not be allowed near language. Remember, folks - use whatever words you feel comfortable with, just be mindful of other people's feelings. :)
