You know what, that suggests the birbs totally knew what they were doing. They get shat out on the conveyor then they're going "woo what a ride!" and they fly back up the top. Hence why the things seem to by flying right into the spot that gets sucked down like they can't wait.

On the other hand it seems like the hole might be a bit small for them... also, I really hope they aren't planning on selling that grain.

If the hole was too small for them then the hole would get jammed up by pigeons. The hole is probably quite large to ensure that the grain flows freely. After all, this mechanism is mostly relying on gravity to do the work.

No, that was my first thought too, and I agree with you that I would not want to see that, here or anywhere, if it depicted that.

But I think that if those pigeons died from that then they wouldn't be allowed to access the thing so freely. Nobody wants dead pigeons in their grains.
