In a nutshell.

Really, the best thing about coelho is how easy to parody he is. I wish I could show you another Coelho spoof that a guy in my country wrote a while ago "The tale of the young farmer who was in love with a camel". I might actually write a translation if there is popular demand 

And yeah no. I read the Alchemist and didnt find it too special.  Or rather, I think that taking a folk tale, throwing in New Age filler, and then selling it to the masses is not exactly nobel prize worthy.

Coelhiacs disease: the unnerving sense that the serenity you are intended to feel reading one of his books will probably end up making things worse.

Paulo Coelho writes drivel, dressed up in portentous language. People are fooled by this, bless them. Coelho gets rich while they feel they have plumbed some great depths when all they are doing in paddling in the shallows.

Paddling in the shallows sounds fairly relaxing. I'm imagining an infinity pool dappels with the shadows of palms shifting gently in the breeze...

To put it more directly, his books are enjoyable to read when you want to turn your brain off, but at the same time want to feel like you're reading something smart. I agree that it isn't noble prize worthy, but it's that feeling that makes people want to buy his books. The prose is also fairly competent.

Bought a bottle of "Vergil's Root Beer Bavarian Nutmeg Limited Edition". Cost around $3 for a 16oz bottle. I'm not WTFing about that, or the root beer itself. It tasted pretty great, a little like licorice. No, I'm WTFing about the bottle itself, and how much trouble it gave me trying to open it. It had a ceramic cap with a rubber stopper, and two metal bits; one to keep it attached to the bottle, and another to leverage the cap off. Looked at several videos for instructions, one reviewer's video was actually him saying he did a review video but lost it, another held the bottle below the camera as he opened it, and another was somebody opening a normal metal bottle cap with a banana.

Finally got it open though, nearly ripped off my thumb nail, but I finally got to enjoy it.

Last night I dreamt that Donald Trump was the mayor of Melbourne, and was shot by a gang of teddy boys who turned out to also be radical feminists. He survived due to apparently being part-cat, and having not just nine but eighteen lives.
A stranger on the bus told me this, so who knows how much of it was true, but she was pretty cute so I woulda believed most anything she said.

Mostly just in the summer. Though we had a long period of drought which lead to lots of fires not so long ago...

I once had a world in SimLife that was permanently on fire, as in the plantlife propogated and grew behind the fire as fast as the fire could eat the plants. I don't think there was any animal life on that world.

SimLife and SimEarth were fantastic. The latter was way better than the former, though. Much more lively games, whereas most SimLife games have very little of note going on in my experience. That being said, I had an amazing game of SimLife where I had grey goo event with cockroaches.

They evolved to be flying and carnivorous and outbred all the species of the world, flying to every continent in a great swarm and wiping out all life. It is terrifying. It was inevitable.
