No need to apologize my friend, I wasn't offended by you and I know you didn't mean to come across like that.
I was just trying to lay the reality of lingering death to violence, curable diseases and starvation on more simple terms.
That UBI would solve the problems, in my experience in this "socialist paradise" I highly doubt it, so I would more or less agree with you. I would opt for a more simple and efficient welfare program, with better filters and programs that motivate people to actually get out of welfare. But that's just my opinion.
For UBI to work first the whole country implementing it need to infuse positive values on all it's population, to appreciate work and the worth of it, beyond monetary issues. For example, despite the misery we are living trough right now and personally my critical situation* I work with a smile at my face, and truly believe in what I do (working in a pasta factory). Thanks to my efforts and those of my colleagues people have something to eat. This is one of the reasons why I didn't flee this country before.
I know that all that might sound stupid but it's the way I was raised and my values, and that's something no corrupt dictatorship or situation will change. Even right now when I'm facing the decision of quitting my job and trying to do something to provide my family, it would be with great sorrow that I would do that, but right now it's not about how I feel or want but about what my family needs.
*(i.e. I didn't have a breakfast today, the food we have I leave it for my wife who's breastfeeding, and I couldn't afford to buy one).
