Played Rider of Icarus and... I feel like I am playing the exact same MMO I've played 20 times before.

Pretty much everyone that's played more than one of them, sure. The significant similarities between many MMOs (and particularly MMORPGs) is something that's been being commented on since... well, basically since they existed as a thing.
