My brother had diabetic ketoacidosis. He didn't smell bad.

Should be sleeping, but looks like the bullshit train of doxxing women with ties to the gaming industry just does not stop. And apparently now, their nuclear families are in the crosshairs too. Hoping Alison Rapp and kin stay safe, and that the trash that's responsible pay for it eventually. These attacks need to stop.

GamerGate is apparently trying to deny culpability this time, and passing it off to whatever community trolls go to when even 4Chan and the bowels of Reddit get tired of them. Whatever the case, I really wish these people would learn to get their jollies in ways that don't threaten or attempt to wreck someone's life. This shit is absolutely unconscionable, and there's no reason this should be happening. Shitting hell.

Isn't Alison Rapp that one now ex-nintendo employee that openly defended convicted pedophiles on twitter and said sexualizing adolescents is basically inherent to japanese culture :v?
Not saying she's satan incarnate or anything, or that doxxing her and her relatives is good, but I can't really fault Nintendo (whose main target audience are children) for firing her, IMO.

Also, hasn't she been recently outed as a high profile escort in seattle? Not judging her life choices, but Its not exactly the greatest alternative avenue for someone whose main job is working PR for a corporation that makes video games for kids.

Yeah, not talking about Nintendo, or anything she might've done. I haven't looked into it extensively, but even so all I was seeing was the same out-of-context and inflammatory shaming spin put on the lives of the other targets of the last few years. Personally I didn't put much weight behind that narrative.

Whatever the situation, though... my point is that trying to anonymously attack and attempt to ruin the lives of people, let alone their families, is completely reprehensible, and has no place in society. Unfortunately, I can't think of any practical way to stop it, other than getting law-enforcement involved, which might be hard given the circumstances.

Alison Rapp kind of brought it on herself, though. Nintendo did say that the whole controversy brough on her by gamergate had no effect on their decision to fire her. It prob just tipped them into doing an investigation on her themselves and finding out all the stuff she posted. Its still very odd and how she got her position in the first place, considering she apparently worked as an escort even before she got her position.
She did try to make everything seem like a gamersgate conspiracy plot against her, though, which probably ended up having a streissand effect over it all and actualy attracted the attacks she's currently facing.

Gamersgate has been rotten from the beginning.

As for how she got the job... look at it her twitter.  It has 74,700 tweets.  That's exactly the credentials a PR rep should have, and I seriously doubt an HR person read her entire backlog.  The escort thing was kept separate from her main online persona so they likely didn't know.  It should have stayed that way, revealing that is a massive dick move.

Plus, have you ever been on social media?  I have like ~100 Facebook friends and about 5 of them post nothing but cringe.  Those people still have jobs.  You post actively enough on twitter you're going to have a few foolish tweets.  Its not a problem for corps unless it becomes a problem.

Crosspost, but made a weird discovery last night that I'm still mulling over. Apparently some opaque plastics are transparent to Infrared? Makes me want to investigate a way to rig up an adjustable multi-spectrum camera and visualizer, for use with AR or portable Head-Mounted Displays. It'd be neat to make single-frequency color information accessible to the colorblind, or to let folks see the UV flower patterns the way bees do, etc.

I was playing around with my VR Headset, and discovered something cool...

I used the IR LEDs on the headset as a light-source. I'm thinking they blink in a sequence to identify themselves, and tell the software what way the headset is turned?

Well uncle likes to hug the bottle at times so that might be the thing.
And doubt it's the sphincter. It's not that kind of smell.
