Just learned from my friend that USA doesn't have statutory sick pay. Queueing me to wonder wtf happens if you break a leg.

And doubly so since then you'd have medical bills I guess? How do you pay the broken-leg monies after you can't work AND don't get paid for being sick?

Like... do poor people in that situation just euthanise themselves or what?

The idea is that socialism will occur, which will mean people will get as much as they put in. There will be no private ownership. It is supposed to be equal, but Lenin (and Marx) argued that this was not true equality, as there would always be those who would get more for their efforts. There are always the weaker and stronger, and plus a state fund for things such as old age homes are required.

The ultimate goal of communism is the removal of a state at all, as a result of human progression. The people will own the rights, not the government, because the government will have a minimal presence.

Based on my knowledge of United States from movies and such, they rob banks, start cooking meth or take whole hospitals hostage.

Well, if you don't get paid by your job, and you don't have insurance that is willing to cover it (for example if you're making too much to qualify for free healthcare, but too little to be seen as a good investment), then you're pretty much screwed. That's the point in your life where things happen like the bank repossesses your home and your car because you can't pay for those either, and things just generally go to shit. There's no real good answers to that question because there's aren't any. Lucky people might be able to crib money off relatives or something, but in general you're just gonna be shit out of luck. Welcome to the American Dream! (And some people wonder why I'm voting for Bernie ).

Yeah, but, like. That's the single piece of chinese literature that has most infiltrated western society. If you've ever heard the names "Son Goku", "Sun Wukong" or any variant on that (I.E. drop the "S(u|o)n"), that's Journey to the West.

Off the top of my head, there's Dragon Ball (Son Goku), Smite/League of Legends([Sun] Wukong), Heroes of Newerth (Monkey King), Dota 2 (Sun Wukong was planned to be in some version or another, but never got in I guess because literally every other MOBA on the market that mattered got him first, I think he was changed into a rework of Phantom Lancer or something).

I have a weird MOBA fixation, huh.

EDIT: WTF HoN translated "筋斗雲" (Jīndǒuyún, "Somersault Cloud") as "Flying Nimbus". The hell? I'm like 99% sure that's a Dragon Ball dubism.

League did the same thing; his E is a cloud-flavored dash+hit called Nimbus Strike.

Just got off work an hour early because the power went out for the entire block, including our store and the Costco across the lot.



Made my first trade in the Pokemon GTS this morning, a useless Medicham for some Japanese guy's Ditto. I figure I'd use it to breed my Mawile. Then I realized that I'd be taking a libido-driven slime monster from Japan and putting it with my favorite Pokemon - a Mawile I've had before fighting Norman and been with me the entire time since - and telling it to have its way with her. The mental image was profoundly disturbing. I require brain bleach.

On top of that, Pokémon has a lot in common with dog fighting and animal cruelty. You go into the wild and catch wild animals. You then train them to fight. You never feed them (unless you're feeding them berries for the combat benefits or poffins(is that what they're called?) to make their performances in beauty contests better(don't get me started on that)). Whenever they lose a fight, you store them back in their container(which is hella small) and force them to fight again later, or you drug them with "revive" so that they can continue to fight. Then you breed them, steal their eggs from them(and most of them have no orifice that seems proper for egg laying*) and either engage in the slave trade, or use your Pokémon born to captivity (and I mean captive) to fight, or breed even more! Really rare discolored Pokémon are considered even more valuable, and are then traded or bred, or just kept for their looks.

All in all, it's really quite disgusting.

*My working theory is that Pokémon spore breed. How these spores become eggs/collect food is beyond me.

It could be that they don't all actually have eggs, but the Daycare Old Man who gives you them puts all of them in eggs for [reasons] before you get them, and passes it off as mysteriously appearing.
