Yeah, he wrote that in response to a question of mine. It was 'To our beloved Führer', so yeah, 2edgy4me. AFAIK he's German, and fairly anti-immigrant (which is a minority but wide-spread sentiment around here), but honestly he wasn't worse than LW in that regard. If Toady banned him for shitposting, he should at least be honest about it - any "racist URL" must've been a case of 2edgy as well. I strongly disagreed with LSP's views on this issue, but what he usually wrote wasn't even close to banworthy.

If anyone's got contact details for the guy, please shoot me a PM. I'd hate to lose contact.

The "racist URL" might refer to the fact that LSP's profile had a link to a stupid troll site and the URL just so happened to spell out the n-word. (Did no-one else notice it? It had been there for months.)

If that was the real reason, I must say Toady may have overreacted a little bit there; a warning would have been enough, but eh, who am I to judge the Toad...

It's not a 2-week mute, if that's what you're asking. I don't think Toady does temporary bans.

In any case, it's done. He's gone. No point in hashing about it, anymore there was when other forum members (who some people liked) forgot that there are at least a modicum of rules that need to be followed.

Wouldn't be surprised if a warning/warnings had already been given anyway, Toady is usually very good at giving multiple warnings first and being very patient with people before resorting to bans. Much more likely it was an instance of multiethnic warnings having already been given (whether about the URL or other things) and this was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

I faintly remember seeing Toady asploding some rage-y discussions in which he and other people were involved, so I'm pretty sure Toady didn't just come down and outright ban him, since he prob got warnings before. From my experience, Toady will give at least a single warning and maybe a mute before banning anyone.
