Sure its a good reason.  I mean just look at it!  Somebody clearly just shoved two words together and declared it a new word, even though it worked just fine as two words on their own.  Its redundant and silly looking.   

Otherwise, we might as well start doing with the rest of our words.  I donot think this is a good idea when wehad perfectly good words for these things.  I willnot be apart* of these grammar shenanigans.

* You get half a point here for "apart" being a real word made up of two words but this being made in the wrong context

Yeah, but "a part" means something different than "apart".  "Cannot" and "Can not" mean exactly the same thing.

Somebody comes close though.  You could argue its meaning is slightly different than Some body.

Yeah, its arguable.  I'd say Some body would include corpses lying on the floor, or even an animal.   Somebody implies a person.

Is 'cause the brain is lazy. "Fuck looking over every single letter to make sure they're all in the right place, if they're all in the word, it's cool, man, it's cool."

Apparently, it's only the first and last letter that matter in any word. So long as they're in the right place, people can read it just fine.

"I can not breathe" coud be taken to mean "I am abe to not breathe". "I cannot breathe" does not suffer from that 'problem'.

But "cannot" can also mean different things to "can not".
If you stress the "can", it could mean you have the ability to not do a thing, where "could" would often also not be applicable.

Example:
"I can not sit here."
