It might be easier for games without subtitles to get down the words.

Though so few point and clicks have no subtitles. The most common kind would be for children like Freddie Fish, Puttputt, Pajama Sam, Spyfox, and Fatty Bear.

It took its name from the name of the road that goes through it, and the road was named because the only distinctive feature of the area was a vigilant man with a shotgun that was wary in an era where violent gang wars were quite common. Hardly the strangest means of naming a town.

I just realized that Spies in movies and television shows are usually REALLY obvious... and I mean incredibly as in they seem to draw attention to the fact that they are spies.

I mean for James Bond, I do think it was honestly intentional. He wanted to make himself suspicious enough that people would send spies and agents his way that he could interrogate.

I wonder why spies are depicted that way.

I mean why not just call them Agents?

Most movie "spies" aren't anything of the sort. They're covert-operations specialists sent in on infiltration and sabotage missions rather than long term "covered" personnel who run chains of informants to steal classified information from an enemy. This is because most movie "spies" are based on James Bond, who was based on British agents of the Second World War that were sent on short-term assassination (until the fallout from Hydrich convinced them that was a bad idea), sabotoge, and especially liaisons with native resistance movements.

As for "agent" versus "spy", the only difference between the terms is that usually an "agent" is a Good Guy and a "Spy" is a Bad Guy.

Wouldn't a movie about a real spy mostly consist of someone living a normal life, occasionally writing or receiving letters but otherwise being pretty mundane?

Not necessarily. The tension of recruiting a new agent, the panic of a blown message drop, or trying to get a new code to a deep-cover intel source so that he can get important information out are all perfectly good dramatic fodder.
