I downloaded Netscape Navigator to check something for another website (mostly because I'm a nerd and they were making browser jokes,) and it's the most hideous thing I've seen in a long time. Holy shit, it's bad.

I used telnet specifically for playing MUDD games. Hell, I played for about a month with local echo off. My typing got pretty good very quickly.

Made a batch file that loads up all my work tools and webpages in the correct order fully commented with instructions and information being printed to the console screen as it runs.

Other people in the training class asked for it, so with trainer permission, I zipped it up with a readme with instructions on how to change certain lines to point to the proper locations where they have their tools saved.  I also mentioned that they need to change certain lines to get it to load the tools properly in the same post that I provided the link on.

I've always used Internet Explorer, even when we had dialup. I remember getting a lot of CDs with AOL stuff on them, never looked at them because there wasn't any demos of games on those. Think I used one as a coaster at some point.


As for typing, learned how to type playing "Hugo's House of Horrors". Later I had a program that helped me learn touch typing. "Cupboard" and "Elephant" are difficult words to type out quickly.

Apparently, the MUD I used to play uses Flash now. That in and of itself is a WTF, given that we had to just straight up telnet in back in the day. Granted, I haven't played in something like ten years, but man, what a change.

I don't understand how one plays MUD without macro or filter.
But then again, the sort of MUD I play is like Achaea which have a lot of message spam.

Today, my WTF came from two Chrome processes, each taking up 25% of my quad-core CPU. Taskkill did nothing. End Process from task manager did nothing. Google Chrome wasn't even open at this stage, either.
Eventually I just rebooted the thing, but after starting Chrome again in a fit of insanity, the same thing happened again. Two processes. Half of my CPU. Absolutely unkillable. The hell, Google? I thought you were better than this.
