I learned some of the sound effects in Windows Vista were made by Robert Fripp. Wat.

He even does soundscapes. I swear, he's everywhere.

Went to an Asian store(dominantly Chinese) and hear Ievan Pollka sung by Miku. Surprised to hear that played in public.

I was trying to find an adapter to allow me to plug something that normally goes into a car's cigarette lighter - a small air compressor - into a wall outlet. Finally found one at RadioShack... for $61. The air compressor was $12. Honestly, I expected an adapter to be cheaper than the device I intend to use it for. I also found a plug to recharge an old portable DVD player I've had for a while that I've never been able to use, in the $15-$20 range(expected cost was ~$5).

Try this?
Other way around.
I got that, too. That's one that you have to buy online, though.

Would that we were all fucked rest in closets. It sounds fun.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

So.

Scientology is weird.
Both of my parents were philosophy students in college, my mom majoring, my dad minoring. One day, when driving through Kansas City, we drove past a place with a banner above it that said something about a Scientology open house or somesuch.

EDIT: My parents hate Scientology with a passion. They refused to pay to see the new Mission: Impossible because they didn't want to support Tom Cruise. My mom works at the local theater, however, so we eventually got to see it for free.

I'm still holding out hope for Seagal 2014.
A quick look tells me that he cannot, in fact, run for governor in the state of Arizona; he violates a "five-years of residency" requirement. In addition, it appeared to have been a joke taken too seriously.

And may I say thank God.

I just remembered. While I was there, I checked something out. Miku's signature item is a spring onion, not a leek. Those are two different vegetable.

Stupid translators.
