LEGO Rock Raiders.
Holy crap I remember that game. I'm probably one of maybe ten people who does.
It came into the charity shop I volunteer at a couple of weeks ago. By the time I returned with money, it had gone  :'(
I still have my copy. Considering giving it a go again. I could never beat the last few missions...

There is a Lego rock raiders forum, with a modding community. Rock Raiders United I believe.

Seems about right. That was really the only reason I played. Quit when they added all the security measures to prevent 'unfair trade'.

I never got into that game as much as other people I knew did. Then again I've never really had friends to play MMOs with, so I tend to lose interest in them.
Ah, I played it for a good long while. Never really got into the PvP much (the real PvP, that is, not the no-loss minigames), because it took way too long to grind good gear when you lose everything on death. That, and the magic system (while different enough from other MMOs and SP RPGs to be interesting) was obscenely expensive to use. T'was certainly a good way to learn to trust nobody, though, especially before they implemented a lot of the anti-scamming features.

I hated the Wildy. Is that still even around in the same way? I never got very far in that place. Too many people with anyone-nuking abilities camping the transition area all the damn time.

IIRC they went through a few phases. First they removed the Wildy and turned it into a shit set of tiered arenas, then they added it back, and then they went back to the really old fashioned PvP where some worlds are PvE and you can only PvP in the Wildy, and others that are PvP everywhere outside of towns, sort of like it was back in Classic (except without the PvP switch).

Ah yes, that reminds me. My Jewish friend pretended to be a girl in order to receive innumerate amounts of gold, my French friend was there so early that he already had 99 cooking when I joined and my japanese friend went full pVp headhunting. I went about the traditional way of grind grind grind. Once I realized the price of whatever I sought to buy would increase with the rate I was acquiring gold, I had to learn about manipulating the market and investing in commodities like dragon bones and flax in order to make my gold values increase with inflation. I remember the moment where someone had assumed I had stolen an abyssal whip because I wasn't even high enough of a lvl to wield it, and then I realized I had the monies. Even learnt how to make a profit out of the minigames designed to make you lose gold.
How I loved that game, how I hated it. It's weird in a way knowing how my account still exists out there in data limbo.

Runite in Runescape was like investing in actual gold. That shit basically never lost value, at least for as long as I was playing.

My grandmother came across some internet ad that claimed you could cure arthritis by downloading some program onto your computer and running it.

She fell for it, and it changed her homepage to ask.com. No matter what address you try to go to it will redirect you back to the homepage. Searching anything in ask also sends you back to the homepage.

Maybe, to them, "use of the internet" is limited to communicating with other people.

They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Ethical use? I dunno.
Closer to good manners. Corporation killing hackers can still have good netiquette. We tend to have good netiquette as a forum.

That sounds useless in every way for everyone involved. Has she tried manually terminating the process and deleting the program?
