Seattle had some superhero vigilante types a while back. Like, costume / cape / mask / everything. It's only a matter of time until they screw up though, misinterpreting a situation and doing the wrong thing (and not having training so they know what to do and how to interpret things), or getting shot because they got in too deep.

For a while there was this pigeon with a hypodermic needle sticking out of it and everyone absolutely freaked out like it was a mass murderer.

There was a guy who had a katana and was running around checking people's back doors to see if he could get in to escape the police. They cornered him and he was all like "COME AT ME BRO" waving his katana around. They blasted him with a fire hose until he cooperated. "You may be crazy and riled up, but this hose is connected to the city water mains and there's like a thousand acre-feet of water in the nearest reservoir. Your call."

But this stuff is like the first 3 posts on the Florida Man twitter feed. We got nothing on Florida.

I keep hearing something that sounds like a classic air raid siren. No one is freaking out, so I don't think it is some sort of attack, but it sure is distracting.

That's pretty common in my village - and in the neighboring villages. So common, in fact, that I can distinguish the different villages' sirens by sound.

Where I live in Michigan they use those sirens for tornado warnings. Never actually had a tornado, but they test them every other Friday at noon.
