that's just a reflection of the person taking the picture, they happen to be in a doorway i guess

there are a lot of assumptions to be made about the person from the arrangement of pixels in the eye and i am keeping them all for myself

I've been staying up until 6am playing Crusader Kings 2. That can't be very healthy either. It is Christmas though, I suppose we're allowed to be foolish for a bit.

To be fair the whole "domination" part doesn't really interest me as much as changing history. I don't go medieval France for instance and conquer Spain and turn it French, I prefer going obscure Kingdoms in the British Isles and trying to shape the islands in ways that I agree with e.g. Lancaster is actually Welsh again, Cornwall is a united Duchy etc.

It's just unfortunate that in order to change things in early history I so often have to dominate people militarily. Thank god we live in an era where we can now use other means, though it would be nice if we could live in an era where we didn't have to dominate at all. Perhaps we do, though the imperialists would rather keep going as they have been.

Something like this perhaps? GIMP's Feather Selection option combined with overlay layer mode were what I went with here.
