Nah. Plague doctors should interest everyone. There's just something about those masks and general creepiness.

Eh, it wasn't really about genital mutilation. Just a step up from protests he's done before, possibly due to increasing desperation. Can't say I blame him, either. As protest goes, it's less permanent and practically as evocative as self-immolation. Certainly a very vivid representation of powerlessness, to say the least.

Has anyone ever thought that many of the secret societies are somewhat immoral and clearly self-interested?

Let me be more clear though

Like the Men in Black. On some level you can understand that yeah people are not ready for the knowledge of alien life. Yet the men in black clearly profit off of their business practices and take no steps in preparing the populous for this as well they directly control the governments of the world and the minds of the populous (being our world's secret dictators). Add in that these aliens are of human concern (what with the number of them that mass murder) and it seems kind of vicious.

Either about $50 appeared out of nowhere in my checking account recently or I really misread it last week.

I remember looking at my balance and seeing about $80 in my account, then spending like $65 on cat stuff, then (after checking again and seeing $15 or so in my account) moving $10 from my savings account over so I could withdraw $20. My bank site says instead I had about $130 in my account, spent like $65 on cat stuff, then I moved $10 for no reason and withdrew $20.

Did I misread it that badly twice in one day? Or maybe my bank screwed up that day and said there was $50 less than I actually had. Or maybe some charge to my card didn't go through and I'm going to get charged $50 again soon.

Yeah, it's BYOND.

The second line sets a new var to reference the location of the object. (It can be simply referred to as curr after this)
The var is a reference to a /obj/structure/disposalholder, and thus any vars or functions of this var can be called by var.proc() or var.var. If it was just an /obj/structure I couldn't acces vars or procs of /obj/structure/disposalholder (altough there's an operator to do that, it's considered bad forms because compiletimes > runtimes).

The code is kinda ugly, uses relative paths (indented paths for functions, hard to search for stuff), and pretty dated. Not horrible, tough.

This particular function moves the virtual holder object trough disposal pipes. The checks for turns at junctions are at other places, I think, altough this is only the last part of the function.
