Found another 'gem' at the library today. A book, based on a movie, based on a video game. I was doing some more sorting, when I stumbled upon it. My only response was a muttered 'wat'.

Let me show you all the logic of my school's network in regards to grade calculation. Here are my Biology grades for this semester:

Pre-Chapter Assignment: 100

Quiz 1: 100

Quiz 2: 85

Exam 1: 93

Total Projected Grade? 64. All I can do is shake my head.

Well, I'd imagine you have zeros on all tasks that haven't been assigned so far but are in the system.  Like finals.

It's possible the school system counts incomplete assignments as zeroes. While that would defeat the entire purpose of a "projected grade," I've seen it quite a few times.

That isn't how it works, or at least not how it is supposed to work. The projected grade would be what you get if the semester ended immediately. The other grades are listed as dashes, not zeros. Besides, I seriously don't think I could get a D in Biology with an A on one exam and 0's on all the others.

Well, assuming there's just two exams, that would bring you down to fifty, counting no other assignments. That's an F on both a seven and ten point scale. Factoring in how much of the course% your exams usually are and any other complete/zeroed assignments... yeah, seems possible.

So there have been posters put up around campus to advertise STD awareness. Their slogan? "Friends don't give friends chlamydia."

I also learned in marketing class today that there is a line of pens made by Bic specifically marketed towards women.

The only real difference is that it has a pink casing, whereas other pens have casing that's the same colour as the ink inside. The ink in "For Her" pens only come in black and blue, no pink ink available.

I'm not sure why we even had to learn this.
