Dog whistles can be heard right? I am pretty sure they can... Can't they?

They are higher pitched than the average adult human is capable of hearing, but within the possible variance of normal human hearing, particularly among the young. Being able to hear one is unusual, but far from unheard of.

I can slightly hear them.

They are meant to be higher pitch than the human ear can hear. Still, some are higher than others. I'm not exactly sure what hearing range I still have...

William Shatner can hear them, but only at Zero Hour.

Well I am wondering because when going to the zoo the person there blew into two whistles that I heard.

The second, the higher pitch whistle, was apparently a dog whistle that I wasn't supposed to be able to hear... Yet I could hear it quite clearly.

Dog whistles are also annoyingly high pitched.

Found out Candy Box was featured on Kotaku, so I went there to look for the article. Meanwhile, I found THIS. What. The. Fuck. I feel sick.

The NYPD has now officially embraced doublespeak.

Went on the exam board's website the day before my GCSEs for past papers:

I mean really. A DAY BEFORE. -_-

It's probably down BECAUSE of that. Though I feel your pain, I'm doing a local A-levels equivalent, starting from tomorrow till 23rd (with gaps between exams) and the (national) organization who is supposed to take care of that has blatantly wrong exam hours displayed.

It was either this, the sad thread, or the Boston bombing thread (but that's fallen off of the first few pages).

On the radio today, I hear that the bombers' uncle was doing funeral arrangements. The mortician or whatever can't find a cemetary that will take them.

Really? Did any other mass murderers (attempted or not) have such trouble getting buried after kicking it?

And we all know what the response will be.

"Hurr durr it's obviously the games affecting his mind, and the fact that a kid was given a rifle as a gift at 11 has nothing to do with him shooting someone to death with it whatsoever."

Why on earth would you give an 11 year old a rifle?

Seriously, the kid should have been killing family members with a rifle by age 5. Who waits for 11? What are those people? Backwards or something? BTW the best line in the 5-year-old rifle story:

Quote
The children's uncle, David Mann, described the accident as 'something you can't prepare for'

Maybe you could 'prepare' for it by not giving baby-sized .22 caliber rifles to your baby?
