Maximum health, maximum magic, maximum rupees, speedhack...

He also wants to skip past the first half of the game, but he can't figure out how to do that.
What? Why? Why would you...why?!

I mean, if he were doing some sort of speedrun it might make sense, but it almost sounds like he's just bad at the game :/
There are two ways of looking at glitches.
1. "LOL! I'm using a cow as a pool cue!"
2. "So that's how it works? Fascinating!"

That video was a pleasant intellectual experience for me. Thank you for sharing it with us.
No problem! This is actually my favorite speedrun, since they bother explaining the crazy stuff they do instead of simply doing it. No hax either, just glitching.

I finally got around to getting new X-COM and decided to ease into things with a Normal campaign. Don't know what the hell I was thinking, but my goal for it is to complete using only the same team of six soldiers from my initial pool of recruits. No weeding out non-psykers, no Iron Will second team building, no fill-ins if someone is injured or killed. No reloading saves, either.

And this is about the point where I'm neck deep in the main line of missions without a single mission failure, when I'm seeing my Assault literally cut through 6-7 Thin Men on his own, when I clear large UFO crashes with nothing but my buddy duo of speedy medics. Yeah, as soon as this is over it's Ironman Impossible time. Normal isn't supposed to mean cakewalk, even if I am playing as carefully as if it were a higher difficulty. ;.;

Normal tends to be a cakewalk. Classic (at least to me) ramps up the difficulty considerably, and you will CURSE Thin Men.

Haha, I think I'm still thinking in UFO Defense terms, where "Normal" means "at least 1-2 deaths per mission even if you do everything right" until the point where you've got your OP monsters.

That's "Classic" in the new game, though again this is from my point of view. You will lose 1 or 2 soldiers every battle until you build up a decent squad of survivors. And then you will lose the entire squad. And then you'll lose the not-as-good soldiers that were meant to be single-mission replacements. And then you'll lose your rookies. It's a downward spiral :P

On higher difficulties Thin Men get back up to the comfortable 'snipe you through 5 miles of cover on all sides' bastards.

Classic Thinmen have a base accuracy of 80%. I consider this valid evidence for the non-existence of any benevolent god.

Don't forget how their poison spit cloud is perfectly accurate to ridiculous ranges. I've lost at least one VIP to that bastard of an attack.

From what I've seen, the poison can be preferable to them shooting at you, as it is only damage over time and can be fixed with a medkit, whereas the plasma is... less so.

Their poison cloud is 100% accurate and can be launched from any range so long as the Thinman has line-of-sight.

If you don't have a medkit, the poison is bad, bad news.

It was like this:
*TM1 spit*
VIP: Agh, I've been poisoned!
Me: Quick, heal him!
*squad's only medic uses medkit*
*TM2 spit*
VIP: Agh, I've been poisoned!
Me: *flailing and cursing*

That does not look accidental.

In what way? Looked like the engines stalled and they couldn't get it working in time.
