Cheese graters are cool. Automatic cheese graters would be cooler, and would probably result in me getting bits of skin in the cheese less often. Though there is the possibility of getting entire ground-up fingers in the cheese at that point.

We have automatic can openers.

I contend the idea that automatic can openers are BETTER than manual ones. They are noisy, and require electricity to operate, and don't always open cans as well as hand cranked ones.

Those are the reasons why electric can openers aren't a universal thing. We owned one when I was about 12. After it broke, we didn't rush out to get another electric can-opener. The pricier manual ones are the best.
